I recieved the Liebster Award!

I recieved the Liebster Award!

Terry Ann Diack of It's My Garage-I can Craft in it! has nominated me for a Liebster!  This is truely an honor.

A little about the Liebster.  This is how it works...

Liebster is a German word meaning "Beloved", "Favorite", or "Dearest".  This award is a peer to peer award in which fellow bloggers present the award to their favorite bloggers with less than 200 followers. The origins of this award is unclear, but it believed to have originated by a German blogger.  This award was designed to be a blog award in the pay if forward fashion to share your dearest and most beloved blogs that have less than 200 followers.

Rules for Acceptance
Thank the person who gave you the award and link back to their blog.  Post the award onto your blog.  Give the award to five bloggers who you appreciate that have less than 200 follwers.  Leave a comment on their blog letting them know that you have given them this awesome award.

One of the fun things about recieving  this award is that it challenges you to view more blogs to search for fellow creative person and brighten their day--just a bit--my acknowledging their talent.

Okay and now for my favorite five...

drumroll please
and not in any particular order...

JuliAnne from Paper Crafting with Purpose
Gloria from Scraptabulous Studio
Dawn from I am a Happy Stamper
Nickie from Live Scrap Love
Pam from Pam's Crafty Creation

Be sure to visit these ladies (they are all super talented) and see who they pass the award on to.  This is such a great way to expand your creative circle.

Mini Purse with cards

Did you find some time to papercraft today?  I did!!  I was working on some layouts and cards using the new It's Your Day stamp set.  This set is the new campaign from Close to My Heart.  It is a double "D" set that you can get for just $5.00 when you spend $35.

Then I switched gears to working on a cute purse that hold 6 mini cards.  For the cards, I used the Pun Fun stamp set.  I love this set!!  The paper I used is the darling, retired Daydream, Lilac Mist cardstock and Spring Iris cardstock.

What do you think for these?  Let me know!

A Little Slice of Cake tutorial

Have you seen the new Artiste cricut cartridge from Close to My Heart?  Holy, Moly it is AMAZING :)  There are 700 images that include an alphabet, card bases with matching envelopes, 3-D objects, rolled roses, pinwheel/rosettes, shapes, holiday shapes, and phrases that are welded together.  Did I say how AMAZING this cartridge is????

You can come by on August 26th. to see for yourself at the Open House from 5:00-8:00 pm.

Let's take a look at the darling cake slice box that I made using the new Artiste cartridge.  I cut it at 3 3/4" for the bottom and top of the box.  I used Grey Wool and Baby Pink cardstock.  The roses are made from Vineyard Berry and was cut at 3".  The stem is cut at 2" in Sweetleaf cardstock.  Then I added the new pink and green glitz glitter gel.

So the question is...What do you think of this paper cake?  Could you resist just a slice?

Let me know.  I would love to show you how to make your own.

Avonlea Mini Album

A dear friend of mine is hosting a home gathering next week.  I wanted to design a special project for her and her friends/family to do.  I am so excited for how this mini album turned out.

The supplies I used are Avonlea paper, Slate, Juniper, Olive cardstock, baker's twine, bitty sparkles, buttons, paper butterfly, and clear sparkles.  I used the new Artiste cricut cartridge to cut the pages for the mini album.

I hope Jen likes her project!!!

What do you think of this darling mini album?  Would you like to make it at your next night out with the ladies?  Let me know what evening is good for you!

Pinwheel/Rosette tutortial

While I was designing the last card for my December Biggby card class, I was inspired by the cricut booklet from the new "Artiste" cartridge.  The pinwheel/rosette are all the rage right now on cards and scrapbook layouts.  I thought I would show you how easy it really is to make one.

Cut 2 (1 1/2") strips from the Artiste cricut cartridge

Fold both strips like a fan

Adhere one send together

Adhere other end together to make the ring

Begin to shape the ring and have a circle ready with liquid glass

Place ring over glued circle and press down

Flatten the pinwheel over the glued circle

Place stamped image over the top to hide center

Add paper to card

Adhere pinwheel/rosette to card, then you are done.

Would you like to make this card or something similar?  Then let's get together to make some great projects.
