Chantilly Card Redo!

Today I am going to share another project I submitted to Close to My Heart for my Convention teaching application.  I have shared this card before but I added a twist to it for a new and improved card.

I used Chantilly paper, Fabulous You stamp set, Desert Sand, Buttercup, and Cotton Candy ink, and a rolled flower from the Art Philosophy cartridge with a sprinkle of Almond Glitz and pearls.

Please let me know which card you like!

Bridal Emergency Kit

Today I will share with you another piece of artwork I sent to Close to My Heart for my Convention teaching application.  I had to send 5 pieces of artwork that showcase my style and creativity.  You have seen the Later Sk8r Legoland scrapbook page, the Chantilly card box, the Surf's Up explosion box, and today will be the For Always bridal emergency kit.

The For Always Bridal Emergency Kit is made from the For Always paper pack.  I cut a Gable box from the Artiste cricut cartridge.  Then I colored the rosette ribbon with Ruby ink and a dauber.  Inside the box I put all of the necessary items a bride or her maids would need on that special day, like a sewing kit, safety pins, aspirin, band-aides, and other goodies.

What do you think????  I would love to hear your thoughts.

Surf's Up 3-D box

I thought today would be a perfect day to share with you another project I sent to Close to My Heart corporate office with my Convention teaching application.  I sure wish the weather would become nice around here...getting tired of Old Man Winter.

This 3-D box was cut from the Artiste Cricut cartridge.  When you take the lid off the box the base explodes with many layers and many pictures.  It was such a fun project to make.  I used the Surf's Up paper pack and matching My Stickease.  Then I added a little bit of stardust and almond glitz and clear sparkles and some bubbles.

What do you think of this project?  Please let me know.

Chantilly textiles

A few weeks ago, I was playing with the new Chantilly textiles on a project to submit to Close to My Heart.  I used a 2 x 12 inch piece of the yellow fabric.  Then I added a whip stitch on the top of the fabric so I could pull it for a pleated look.  I adhered it to the card box with liquid glass and covered the pleated edge with the silver shimmer ribbon.  These textiles add so much dimension to a project.  I am hoping to be able to play with the textiles this weekend to see if I can create something else with them.  Here is the card box I created using the Chantilly textiles.
What do you think of this?  I love some feedback please.

Another Later Sk8r Card

Do you have a little boy in your life with a birthday coming or maybe a special occasion?  Today I will show you a card using the Later Sk8r paper and stamp set from the Workshop on the Go.  The ink colors are Lagoon, Outdoor Denim, and Slate.  I added the little bubbles for a more texture to the card.  The stamped image uses a technique called swiping.  This gives the feel of motion to the skater.

I am debuting my first video today.  My friend Sherry, so kindly helped me do the taping, one day after work at school.  So please excuse the setting of the video.  It was fun to make.  This video will show you how to create this card.  Let me know what you think of the video.

Thank you for looking today!

Later Sk8r

Have you seen the new Later Sk8r paper from Close to My Heart?  It is perfect for the boys in our lives!  I love it :)  This collection of paper is bright and works great for those outdoor photos.   The layouts today feature photos from our family trip to California.  While we were there, we decided to drive down the coast to Legoland.  Nate was thrilled with this adventure.  He couldn't believe all of the legos he saw.  This was a great trip and wonderful memories.

I made Lego blocks for the title and to put on top of the rosettes.  The journaling is hidden inside a pocket on the right side.

Nate with the Elvis statue made from Legos.

Matt with Shakespear, Nate with Albert Einstein, and then Nate and I with Spongebob.

Another Fabulous You...

Yesterday I showed you a card made using Claire paper and the Fabulous You stamp set.  Today I am going to show you another card made from the Fabulous You stamp set but I used paper from Chantilly.  The first card is a simple one.  The bird and flowers are colored with the water colored pencils and some blending to smooth out the lines.  The second card has been upgraded with a rolled flower and a little bit more color of cotton candy pink in the verbiage for the pop of color.  The embellishments used are almond glitz and some pearls.  Let me know which one you like better!!!!

Later Sk8r card

During the month of March, I will be posting some new artwork from the Spring/Summer Idea Book from Close to My Heart.  Today I will be featuring a card using Later Sk8r paper and the Chantilly cardmaking workshop on the go stamp set.  For the base of the card use Lagoon ink in a spray pen.  Then sponge on Outdoor Denim ink using the texture tools.  The last step is to do your stamping in Desert Sand, Lagoon, and Pear inks.  This card is perfect for the birthday boys in your life.

Let me know if you would like to make this card....we can schedule a home gathering featuring it.
